Last Monday, Rhapsody expanded its subscription music service to 14 additional European countries in a bid to accrue scale and more compete with Spotify, Deezer and others in the interactive streaming market. Rhapsody rivals Spotify and Deezer have also been aggressively expanding their international presence in recent months.
Apple’s upcoming Internet radio service, iRadio, will differ from Pandora in how the music is licensed and the features embedded in the service. Apple has reportedly agreed to pay a per-stream royalty above what Pandora pays as well as a percent of advertising revenue.
