With several new music streaming services preparing to launch, Spotify is fighting for market share with a $10 million ad campaign.  Today, YouTube's home page will feature an exclusive documentary about the band Phoenix.

Universal Music Publishing Group recently signed an administration deal with Sugar Hill Music, a catalog of classic early hip-hop and R&B.  UMPG will administer the entire Sugar Hill Music catalog in the United States.

SACEM, France’s performing rights society, and Universal Music Publishing have just signed a global licensing agreement with YouTube.  The agreement allows use of SACEM’s repertoire and Universal’s Anglo-American repertoire in YouTube videos in 127 countries.
