Yesterday, we curated a list of 5 important panels focusing on music publishing and licensing that will take place at SXSW 2012.

However, there's so much more SXSW has to offer than just panels - in fact, the choice can be completely overwhelming. There are meets ups & networking events, music showcases, lectures (and more!) that all songwriters should have on their schedule.

To make life easier for you, this list showcases events that aim to benefit you as a songwriter - be it though encouraging your creativity or gaining a better understanding of the professional songwriting world.

1) Songtrust 1-on-1 Music Publishing Sessions

Event Type: Meet Up

2) Shorties Session: Licensing for Musicians

Description: Working musicians want to know how to tap into the potentially lucrative licensing market, so we've gathered three renowned players to discuss different aspects of licensing, geared towards helping musicians. From basics on how licensing works, tricks/tips on accessing that market, to who musicians can look to help them facilitate these connections.

3) Unstuck: Get (and Keep) Your Creativity Flowing

Presenter: Noah Scalin (Creative Dir, Another Limited Rebellion)

Description: Has your creative engine stalled out? Don’t worry; you’re in good company. Everyone needs a creative tune-up from time-to-time and this is where you’ll get the tools for the job. Artist/designer Noah Scalin, will share the story of his own yearlong Skull-A-Day project and the benefits he gained from this daily practice.

4) Adventures in Songwriting with Paul Williams

Event Type: Lecture

Time: Wednesday, March 14th 12:30pm - 1:30pm

Location: Austin Convention Center, Room 16ab

Presenters: Paul Williams (Paul Williams Still Alive), Stephen Kessler (Dir, Paul Williams Still Alive)

Description: Who's the only man to ever write songs for Barbra Streisand, Warren Beatty, John Travolta, and Kermit the Frog? That would be Paul Williams. A six-time Academy Award nominee (and one-time winner), Paul sits down with director Stephen Kessler ("Paul Williams Still Alive") to discuss his amazing career. There might even be a little singing as well.
