Songtrust to Administer Full Stones Throw Publishing Catalog, Including Artist-Writers Knxwledge, Peanut Butter Wolf, Mndsgn, and More
Stones Throw Publishing, the publishing division of Stones Throw Records, the independent record label founded in 1996 by DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, has entered into an agreement with Songtrust® for global publishing administration. Like the label, Stones Throw Publishing works with a diverse roster of award-winning and emerging artists from around the world.
Songtrust, the world’s largest global publishing administrator, powers global rights administration for over 350,000 writers and 3 million works. Their clients include songwriters at all points in their career—from emerging musicians to established award-winners who have cuts with chart-topping superstars—as well as independent publishers and other rights holders who need a global administration solution.

The Stones Throw Publishing roster includes Glenn Earl Boothe Jr. aka Knxwledge, the GRAMMY award-winning artist and producer, best known for his work with Anderson.Paak (as NxWorries), Earl Sweatshirt, Kendrick Lamar, and Action Bronson; the agreement includes big NxWorries cuts like “Suede” and “Lyk Dis,” as well as “Momma” by Kendrick Lamar. Also on the roster is Kiefer, another GRAMMY winner, an artist and producer who has co-written with Anderson.Paak and SiR, among others; artist and producer Ringgo Acheta aka Mndsgn, with co-writing credits ranging from CHAI to Tyler, the Creator, and including Tyler’s “Peach Fuzz”; rising Mexican-American artist Los Retros, best known for hit single “Someone to Spend Time With”; and Sasha Winn aka Silk Rhodes, including single “Pains,” which was featured on several episodes of HBO’s show High Fidelity.

Now affiliated with 65 pay sources around the world, covering 98% of the global music market, Songtrust’s flexible administration service is an alternative to long-term traditional publishing agreements to songwriters at all stages in their careers. In 2020, Songtrust writers had co-writes with more than half of the artists on Billboard’s Year-End Hot 100 chart, were involved in 40 RIAA-certified gold and platinum songs, and were nominated for 14 GRAMMYs in this year’s ceremony.
