California in the ’90s. The environment I grew up in had a major impact on me. Living in the barrio at that time, I witnessed and overcame nearly anything and everything you could imagine. It influenced me to write about what I saw out of my window. I knew other kids would relate.

Self-expression is very important to me, It's the driving force in my artistry in every aspect. Being able to uplift others who may have also survived traumatic events or hurdled similar obstacles brings me peace of mind. I’ve always been self-driven and motivated.
But I inherited that skill from my grandparents. Especially my grandfather Jackie, he really pushed me to be the greatest at anything I choose to do. Here I am.
I believe if it feels good, sounds good and I loved and enjoyed the process -- That’s success. Peace of mind knowing you love what you do and give it your best. I think too many musicians focus on the vanity metrics and not the art. I’m the complete opposite of that. Art, self-expression, and intent are my priority.
La autoexpresión es muy importante para mí, es la fuerza impulsora de mi arte en todos los aspectos. Ser capaz de animar a otros que también pueden haber sobrevivido a eventos traumáticos o superar obstáculos similares me da tranquilidad. Siempre he sido autónomo y motivado.

As mentioned before, my grandmother Helen and Grandfather Jackie. They saved my life. They could have abandoned me as my biological father did. But they didn’t. When I needed them, they were there and gave me a new life away from the traumatic one I was living through at the time. I can’t leave out my mother Jacqueline either, she, in my childhood years, implemented self-expression and poetry. She also writes. My late friend Porky taught me how to rhyme as a kid. He kind of put that bug in my ear to change my life and start writing my story. I know he’s smiling down over me proud. To be quite honest, until we as a people can accept people of all color, creeds, backgrounds, beliefs, self-expression, and demographics regardless of personal preference, I’m not sure if the industry will ever see the full potential it has within the Hispanic, Latin or any other ethnicity, respectfully.

Never let anyone tell you that you aren’t capable of being great. Don’t let anyone place their fears or defeat over your wins and confidence. Self-belief, even when it’s delusional or unbelievable to others, will take you places you’ve never been, and heights you have yet to reach. You’ll get there, practice patience.

I’d say it has and hasn’t at the same time. I’m not culturally biased. The form of music I create, compose, and write is that from another culture and background, and I respect its origin and the community it came from.
But there were and are some influences within my community that deserve their flowers; Darkroom famila, Kid Frost, Lighter Shade of Brown, Woodie, Snow Tha Product, Lil Rob, and King Lil G to name a few were some of my biggest inspirations and influences.
